I have decided to create these guys for my next submission to Stuffed. I think these are going to be a lot of fun to make. I personally love the siamese twin pop sickle.

My ice cream guys are in the current issue of Stuffed Magazine. I just got mine in the mail the other day. They hit stores January 1st. I really love how they staged the photo. I’ve got work again in Stuffed Magazine. This is Volume 2 that will hit stores Wednesday July 1st. I found the last issue, January’s issue, at Borders. So I’m guessing it’s pretty easy to find.
Though I didn’t make the front cover my name did. Of course they spelled it wrong, but that’s ok.

I finished these guys up this weekend and will sending them off to Stuffed Magazine this week. The girl is about 14″ tall and the villian is 20″ tall. His hat is 5″ of that. The train tracks are made of balsa wood and she is sewn to them. Maybe I should have made a plush train to go with them since the train really is the third character in this scene.

Here are the doodles for the pieces I’m working on right now. It’s my take on the Villain and the damsel in distress. Maybe you’re familiar with the b&w silent movies or the many parodies that depict the woman being tied to the train tracks. Well this is them. I did a little research about where these characters originated and apparently it goes back to a silent b&w movie from 1914 called The Perils of Pauline. I can hear the piano music playin’ as I’m working.

I just got my copy of Stuffed. I am super impressed and love how well designed the magazine is. It’s quite large at 135 pages. It feels more like a book than a magazine. Everything is photographed really well and looks great. It turns out I got three pages inside the magazine. Pretty cool!! I hope to be involved in the next one as well. I TOTALLY recommend you check this out. There are about 39 artists work showcased. A big round of applause to the first softies magazine!!
